I'm Eva Engel,

…A passionate visual artist pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts & Design degree. My fine arts background has supported my growth and strengthened my devotion to design, guiding me to become experimental, creative, and open-minded to everything I produce. My primary area of focus is inspired by vibrant, organic, and feminine forms, sharpening my attention to texture and the tension between minimalism and bold combinations. I directly translate this influence onto the canvas through my deliberate choice of subject, palette, composition, and working with saturated hues that intentionally exceed natural tones. My current practice with mediums focuses on photography and molding paste, allowing me to explore the connection between smooth, visually interesting styles. As well as discovering my enthusiasm for oil painting, I quickly found myself infusing it with mixed media, such as molding paste. Whether I’m layering paint or setting up a shot, curiosity, craft, and a deep need to make the ordinary feel cinematic fuel my passion. I am honored to have had the opportunity to intern at Surroundings Interiors, a luxury interior design firm, this past summer of 2025. This fall, 2025, I am applying to MFA programs in commercial interior design based in New York City.

Looking forward to graduate studies and future collaborations, I remain committed to pushing my creative boundaries, experimenting with new mediums, and making art that invites reflection.
