Just a Bite in oil, 18"x 24

Marilyn Minter inspires this oil painting. For the subject, I am using my photography, which can be found in the "Just A Bite" album.

 

My first step in this project is to sketch and plan the artworks composition!

Here is my first progress update! I'm learning how to work faster with oil paint, and I'm looking forward to seeing more progress!

This is my first time painting fruit! I'm trusting the process of capturing the blackberry.

Woohoo! The berry is coming together; once the oil dries a little more, I plan to add more highlights and shadows.

My next steps are to add more detail to the skin and top lip, paint the nose, and add jewelry!
